Born and raised in the pristine beauty of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Aditya Minj hails from a middle-class family where dreams were abundant but resources were scarce. Right from his early days, Aditya displayed a penchant for diverse talents, excelling in co-curricular activities such as dancing, painting, poetry, and even making a mark in state-level sports like taekwondo, cricket, and kho kho. Despite the limitations of resources and mentorship, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Vinayaka Missions University, AVIT Chennai. His dedication didn’t go unnoticed, as he was awarded the Proficiency Award in 2013 and won several accolades in dance competitions.
Stepping Away from the 9-5 Grind
For Aditya, the conventional 9-5 job was never his cup of tea. Due to financial constraints, he initially worked as a sales executive at sulekha.com, honing his sales skills. However, it didn’t take him long to realize that his entrepreneurial spirit needed a broader canvas. He took the leap, quitting his job within six months to start his own dropshipping venture. Still, the journey was fraught with challenges due to limited resources.
Becoming a Foodpreneur
Aditya’s career choices have always been driven by his passions. After a year-long break, he decided to secure a franchise dealership for BBQ Ride India. It was a year of meticulous planning and hard work, but the venture eventually took off. His partnership with Mr. Ankush Kurup gave birth to the first-of-its-kind food bike initiative in the Andaman Islands, setting an example for locals and inspiring entrepreneurial aspirations.
From Travel Freak to Pro Photographer
Aditya’s journey took yet another fascinating turn as he transitioned from a travel enthusiast to a professional photographer. Starting with phone photography, he soon gained recognition for his skills, working for prominent companies such as Travographer. He even established his photography and videography company, originally named “Momentogram” and later changed to “Whaattheframe.” Despite the challenges posed by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Aditya’s determination shone through, allowing him to persevere.
An Event Manager with a Vision
In 2022, Aditya embarked on yet another venture by initiating the “Wild Tribe Fest.” This marked the beginning of a new party culture in the Andaman Islands. His innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, honed during his engineering days, led to the successful hosting of over 30 events, expanding his influence beyond the islands.
The Present and the Future
As of today, Aditya Minj’s journey continues to inspire. With over 500 + couple shoots 60 +weddings & 30 + ad shoots,under his belt as a photographer, he doesn’t rest on his laurels. His ambition extends to writing his own autobiography, titled “WTF – Will to Triumph Forever: A Tale of an Islander.” What’s truly remarkable is his decision to donate 100% of the book’s revenue to various foundations, a testament to his commitment to making a positive impact on society.
In the coming months, Aditya Minj is poised to launch his book, alongside organizing the biggest startup fair in the islands. His vision is to provide a platform for the younger generation to realize their entrepreneurial dreams, fostering employment and growth within the community.
