Startups in the space industry want clarification on financing and insurance in space policy

The new space policy will make it easier for startups in the Indian space industry to access financing and will clarify issues relating to liability in the event of unfortunate events.
In the nation's space industry, at least 100 startups are working to develop launch vehicles, satellites, and even in-orbit refuelling systems for satellites that would otherwise have to be scrapped due to a lack of fuel.

According to Jitendra Singh, a minister of state in the prime minister's office, "a new space policy addressing various domains of space activities is being worked out."

The first demand-driven satellite ordered by Tata Play and the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle were launched in June as part of the Indian Space Research Organization's (ISRO) privatisation initiatives in the space sector.
